John Taylor-Montoya

John Taylor-Montoya Dr. John Taylor-Montoya is the Executive Director of the Office of Archaeological Studies. A native of New Mexico, he has been practicing archaeology for more than 25 years in the Southwest U.S. He received the doctorate degree from Southern Methodist University where he studied the evolutionary dynamics of social learning and cultural change as evidenced in prehistoric stone tool-making traditions. Over his career, he has investigated archaeological sites that span the entire sequence of human history in North America, from Ice Age bison bone beds to Cold War era military installations (and everything in between).
